Hello Brookeskyes 🙂 I think that the hardest part of my job is keeping positive even when things are not working (sometimes the fungi mutants I work with do not grow very well) or are taking a long time for me to do. I have a great supervisor and friends who help me get perspective and remind me that I am not the imposter that my brain likes to try to tell me I am!
Probably the administration, that is all the planning and preparation for my work. For example making sure I have all the right permits, the right equipment in the right places, a suitable plan B for when things go wrong etc. Working in remote places means if you forget something vital there is no chance of popping out to the shops/ or going online to order it. Our projects have to be planned very carefully and working with wild animals we have to make sure everything we do is done correctly and safely.
